What is Fiber?
Fiber is any internet access through fiber optic lines. While DSL and cable internet services transmit information through copper lines, fiber optic lines use tiny strands of plastic or glass to carry light transmissions. This is what makes fiber the fastest and most reliable form of internet for your essential business functions.
Fiber optic cable typically has multiple layers of plastic over the individual strands and bundle giving it more insulation against outside electrical and radio interference. Fiber optic lines are also less prone to wear and tear. Another benefit of fiber internet is that the cables can maintain their signal up to almost 25 miles, compared to copper cables’ 328 feet—meaning you’ll get a stronger signal for longer.
